Getting to Ravello
Ravello is accessible from various parts of the Amalfi Coast, primarily through Amalfi. Here are your transportation hacks and options:
Bus
From Amalfi, take the SITA bus to Ravello. The journey involves transferring from one bus in Amalfi to a second bus that will take you to Ravello. It’s an economical way to travel, but be prepared for crowded buses during peak season.
Bus Details:
- Step 1: Take a SITA bus to Amalfi from your starting location. For instance, if you are coming from Positano, the bus ride to Amalfi takes about 45 minutes and costs approximately €2-3.
- Step 2: In Amalfi, transfer to the SITA bus headed to Ravello. The bus ride from Amalfi to Ravello takes around 30 minutes and costs about €1.50-2. (Buy your destination or all-day tickets ahead of time; some drivers don’t sell them onboard) This is where you need to understand what comes next best. Once the SITA bus drops you off, you may only have minutes to transfer to the Revello bus. This bus will be across the parking lot to your right when you disembark the bus, and the sooner you are in that queue, the better.
Daily Schedules:
- Amalfi to Ravello: Buses typically run every hour (Not large buses, get into queue ASAP) from 6:30 AM to 8:30 PM, and additional buses may be available during peak tourist season.
- Ravello to Amalfi: Buses run from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM every hour.

Shuttle
A private shuttle is offered by Amico Shuttle from Amalfi to Ravello. This hourly shuttle can be scheduled online. Tickets can only be purchased within the 7 days preceding the trip and include one small carry-on bag. The cost is 10 euro one way and 15 euro roundtrip.
Taxi
A taxi ride from Amalfi to Ravello costs around €30-50 and takes about 25 minutes. We have heard of prices as high as €140 during the busy summer months. This option provides convenience and comfort, especially if you have luggage. You can use local services or apps such as Taxi Ravello to book a taxi.
Car
Renting a car offers flexibility, but parking in Ravello can be limited. Expect narrow roads and challenging parking spaces. If you decide to drive, look for parking information and availability at Ravello Parking.

I’m enjoying reading about you time along the Amalfi Coast. We are thinking of spending a month there late April/May. I’ve been reading about the horrendous traffic even in April! We so want to spend time visiting the villages by bus and I’m wondering what your experience with the traffic was.
Hi Debbie! The traffic was not bad during the month of April, except for Easter week. We did not have any issues getting on busses. We bought tickets ahead of time and lined up about 30 min before the bus departure time. We were able to explore all of the towns along the coast without an issues.
